libccid software package provides PC/SC driver for USB CCID smart card readers, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libccid
libccid is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libccid package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libccid *
You will get with libccid package name, version, architecture and description in a table
